1. Inspect the Exterior
  • Check for any damage to the roof, seals, windows, and vents.
  • Look for cracks in the caulking and reseal if necessary.
  • Inspect tires for cracks, low pressure, or uneven wear.
  • Test lights, turn signals, and brakes.
2. Check the Propane System
  • Reconnect propane tanks if they were removed.
  • Open the valves slowly and check for leaks using soapy water on connections.
  • Light the stove burners to ensure gas flow.
  • Test the furnace and water heater.
3. Flush & Sanitize the Water System
  • Reconnect any disconnected lines and ensure the water heater bypass valve is in the normal position.
  • Run fresh water through all lines to flush out antifreeze (use a hose connected to a clean water source).
  • Sanitize by filling the system with a diluted bleach solution (1/4 cup bleach per 15 gallons of water).
  • Let it sit for a few hours, then flush thoroughly with fresh water.
4. Test the Plumbing
  • Check for leaks under sinks, around the toilet, and at pipe connections.
  • Open and close faucets to ensure water pressure is consistent.
  • Check the water heater operation.
5. Check the Battery & Electrical System
  • Reinstall batteries if removed; check charge levels.
  • Test all interior and exterior lights.
  • Inspect and reset the circuit breakers and fuses if needed.
6. Inspect Appliances & Systems
  • Turn on the refrigerator and let it run to ensure cooling.
  • Test the air conditioning unit.
  • Ensure all vents and fans are operational.
7. Inspect & Test Slide-Outs & Awnings
  • Lubricate slide-out seals and test operation.
  • Check awnings for tears or mold and test extension and retraction.
8. Restock Supplies
  • Check kitchen and bathroom supplies.
  • Verify that safety equipment (fire extinguisher, CO detector, smoke alarm) is functional.
9. Inspect the Hitch & Brakes
  • Lubricate the hitch components.
  • Check breakaway cable and safety chains.
  • Test trailer brakes.
10. Final Checks
  • Run a test drive to ensure everything is secure.
  • Make sure registration and insurance are up to date.
